Rutilated quartz is clear or smoky quartz with thin inclusions of titanium, referred to as rutile, that appear as fine strands of metallic gold, red, brown, black or silver. Rutilated quartz is relatively rare and difficult to source. This specimen was sourced from the Himalayan Mountains in Kullu Valley, Himachal Pradesh.
